Swahili is another name for coastal. The Swahili language was essentially a Bantu language containing a large number of Arabic words.Towns shared common Bantu-based and Arabic-influenced Swahili language.The Swahili people spread their language and culture along the coast of east Africa. By the time the Portuguese arrived on this coast around 1500C.E., the Swahili culture was widely diffused.
