Simón Bolívar(Full name: Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolívar Palacios y Blanco) Simón Bolívar was born on July 24, 1783 and died on December 17, 1830. Bolivar was a famous Latin American leader that fought along with Jose de San Martin(the " muscle" of the revolution) for independence from Spain. Simon Bolivar was a creole (a European descendant not born in Europe) he was also known as the "Brains" of the Latin America Revolution. After Bolivar drove out many Spaniards and freed some Latin Countries from the Spanish Monarchy, Bolivar participated in the foundation of the Gran Colombia, a nation forming the liberated Spanish colonies which included Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela. Bolivar became President of Gran Colombia from 1821 to 1830, President of Peru from 1824 to 1826 and President of Bolivia from 1825 to 1826.
