ShakaThis is a featured page

He was the ruler and reformer of Nguni peoples after 1818. He reformed loose forces into regiments organized by lineage and age. Also, he created the Zulu chiefdom that began to absob or destroy its neighbors in southern Africa. Overall, he was the most influential leader of the Zulu Empire. The Zulu Empire consisted of many Bantu-speaking peoples. He led them to great power, using warfare and many violent strategies. Iron discipline and new tactics were introduced, which aided the military's rise to power. He was assassinated in 1828, but his reforms remained in place and his successors built on the structure he created. The empire was located around Cape Colony and regions of southern Africa. He further helped the Europeans who came into Africa, in which he felt as though he owed a debt to them since they helped him after he was stabbed by one of his enemies, by giving them land in Southern Africa. Even though he did this, the Europeans used and tricked him for their own gain.
