Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus Major, better known as Scipio Africanus, is a famous Roman general who lived from 236 to 183 B.C.E. He fought in the second Punic war, and is most famous for his defeat of Hannibal of Carthage. When he defeated Hannibal, he received the title Africanus, and the nickname the Roman Hannibal.
