Thomas Aquinas was a prominent figure in the Catholic Church and believed in scholasticism, which was an intellectual blend between Christianity and academics. He was an Aristotelian and largely attempted to bring Aristotle (who had previously been viewed negatively by Christian theologians because he arrived at his philosophical conclusions by rational thought as opposed to faith) into a favorable light with the Christian world.
