Philosophy is defined as an organized system of thought. The word comes from a Greek word meaning "love of wisdom." Some well known Greek philosophers include Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. Many Chinese philosophies are found to be centered around Confucianism. Confucius believed that government should be open to all men of superior talent. He came up with a basic set of ideas called Confucianism. He is an advocate for filial piety and the "work ethic."
