Karl Marx (1818-1883) was born in Prussia and educated in Germany. He was best known for being a revolutionary communist. His works inspired many communist regimes in the twentieth century, like the Bolsheviks Regimes and the October Revolution in Russia. In his twenties he turned away from philosophy, towards economics and politics. He believed that capitalism would produce internal tensions which will lead to destruction. Marx argued that socioeconomic change occurred through organized revolutionary action. He held the belief that a person is determined by where and when the person is — communist social context takes precedence over innate behavior; or, in other words, one of the main features of human nature is adaptability. Karl Marx wrote, and in 1848, published, the Communist Manifesto, one of the world's most influential political manuscripts.
