Julius Caesar joined with Crassus and Pompey to form the first Triumvirate. Caesar was born in 100 B.C.

Julius Caesar was a brilliant military tactician, who mastered every terrain. His military career was highlighted by the routing of Pompey's numerically superior force, to take over Rome.

After the route of Pompey's army in Rome, Julius Caesar was officially named the dictator of Rome. Caesar planned much more building projects and military campaigns to the east. This was not to be, in 44 B.C., a group of senators assassinated him. Caesar's grandnephew and heir Octavian Caesar, also known as Augustus, went on to be in the next triumvirate.
