Jesus Christ of Nazareth is considered to be the son of God in
Christianity and one of the prophets in Christianity and
Islam*. Presumed to be born on December 25 of the Gregorian Calendar, Jesus was raised as a Jew, and eventually found an occupation as a teacher and healer. He is most famous for his supposed miracles, one of the most commonly referred to being the conversion of water to wine.
Many Christians believe that he is a divine being and possibly the Christian deity incarnate, bringing salvation and reconciliation with the Christian deity. It is said that he has committed no sinful acts (even after a claim of temptation from Satan, the lord of evil and the underworld in many Christian teachings) and is considered to be a man of purity. He was crucified on orders from the
Roman Empire, as they feared that he was plotting to rebel against the
empire.According to biblical documents, he rose from the dead and ascended to Heaven, fulfilling a Christian prophecy.
*Although the Muslims do claim Jesus to be one of the prophets, they consider Mohammed to be the final prophet.
