There was more to the Medieval Age of Europe than barbarian invasions and turmoil. During this time, a new style of architecture arose. Gothic architecture emphasized towers and vaulting arches. It was very intricate in detail, which was most often seen in the cathedrals at the center of each town. Cathedrals were rich, luxurious structures for which no expense was spared. Nothing demonstrated the full extent of gothic architecture than these majestic buildings.
