Francisco PizarroThis is a featured page

Pizzaro was a Spanish conquistador who led an expedition to South America. During the expedition he took over the Incan Empire . Pizarro held Atahualpa, leader of the Inca Empire, prisoner until the Spanish received all the gold. Once their wish was granted, ( after about eight months) Francisco had Atahualpa executed.

He was the founder of La Ciudad de los Reyes, which was the capital of Peru and Lima (which is also in Peru). He was born in Trujillo, Extermadura, Spain. No one knows for sure when he was born but it has been said 1471, 1475–1478. He was the illegitimate son of a Gonzalo Pizarro Rodríguez. Pizarro sailed on numerous expeditions to South America, for his home country of Spain. Francisco was second cousin to Hernán Cortés, who was well known in Mexico. He conquered the most territory of an military leader and brought the wealth to Spain. Before his career he was a swine farmer. There is no evidence that he was in military school and it's often believed that he was illiterate.
