FeudalismThis is a featured page

Feudalism is the political and military relationship that developed during the Middle Ages in Europe.

How Feudalism works: A king has a lot of land and if he does not feel like governing all the land he will give a noble some of the land and a title in turn that they defend the king if he goes to war. After that the noble may decide to give someone a piece of land and that person is a knight. The knight gets the land and the title provided that he defends the noble and the king when they go to war. The knight may decide to give land to another person, this person is a serf. The serf has no real ownership of the land but he gets to live there provided that he give some kind of tribute like crops or money. All this money passes through the relationships and the nobles give the money to the king and land in return for service.
