Chivalry - Mr. Thomas' World History Class

Chivalry was a code of behavior that emphasized polite, controlled behavior, especially in the presence of women.
The idea of chivalry originated in the Middle East and was then taken over to Europe during the Middle Ages, following the Crusades.
Unfortunately, as time went on, Chivalry became less valuable in the eyes of society.

Chivalry was the code that knights during the medieval ages lived by. They didn't just practice this sometimes, and it wasn't just in the presence of women; they lived their lives according to this code every day. Separately from the European knights, the Samurai lived by a similar code, referred to as Bushido (way of the warrior).
