BastilleThis is a featured page

Bastille - Mr. Thomas' World History Class Bastille is a French word meaning "castle" or "strong-hold". It was a prison in Paris built during the Hundred Years War and was best known for its storming on July 14, 1789, which is thought to be the beginning of the French Revolution, along with the Tennis Court Oath. Bastille Day is now celebrated every July 14th as a French national holiday.
