Aztecs - Mr. Thomas' World History Class
Aztec is a term used to refer to certain ethnic groups of central Mexico, specially those groups who spoke the Nahuatl language and who made political, agriculture, and military developments over large parts of Mesoamerica in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries, a period referred to as the Late post-Classic period.
The term Aztec often refers to the people of tenochtitlan the city where the Aztecs first established in.

The Aztecs used to chinampas to grow their crops. They harvested four times a year with corn and maize as the largest crops.
Their political structure consisted of a centralized city with tributary city-states. Warriors in the military were tough and fanatic followers of their religion (sacrifices).
Nobility came from heads of the calpullis (neighborhood groups/family heads)
